10.. 100.. Probably 1000.. Nope, i am pretty sure i experienced infinite goosebumps during the last 140 minutes sitting inside a packed auditorium watching SACHIN - A BILLION DREAMS.. It was almost like taking a master class on life - the two main components being hard work and humility.. It was anything but a boring documentary - it was more than a movie - it was an experience that left me awestruck and a sore throat shouting SACHIN.. SACHIN.. yet again on the top of my voice every now and then alongwith every member of the so called classy multiplex audience..
The biggest success of this film was the fact that it never took any cinematic liberty as such - just showed the reality on screen and what better than to have the god of cricket - Sachin Tendulkar himself acting as a narrator of his own life story - that was a masterstroke by the director undoubtedly.. 90% of the movie is already known to every audience member by heart and yet to keep an auditorium full of audience glued to their seats till the end credits was certainly no mean feat by any standards.. The icing on the cake were the loads of personal videos that were showcased during the movie which in turn successfully helped us get an inkling into his private life outside the cricket field - they were magical to say the least.
The whole journey from his childhood to retirement was showcased with a lot of passion and precision. His epic journey from being a normal middle class kid to becoming the god of cricket has been portrayed brilliantly in the movie.. Every important juncture in his life has been included and showcased appropriately..
Kudos to all the actors and crew for doing a great job on this extremely challenging project.. A shout of appreciation to the editor for doing such a terrific job with the editing of the movie along with the director for envisioning this grand idea and executing the same with such perfection..
The movie deserves all the hype it's getting not only because of the name attached with it but also for the content undoubtedly.. It was such a beautiful feeling to give a standing ovation alongwith a nostalgic lot of eight hundred odd people with mostly moist eyes in a packed auditorium to the one and only GOD OF CRICKET for his selfless service to the nation..
Thank you SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR and for one last time before signing off -
SACHIN.. SACHIN..
SACHIN.. SACHIN...............................
SACHIN.. SACHIN..
SACHIN.. SACHIN...............................
